Background and Qualifications

Survey & Mapping Services of S.C., Inc. (SMS) was organized in November 1983, under the original name of Survey & Engineering Services, Inc. Since its inception, SMS has provided quality services and expert surveying within not only the state of South Carolina but also many other areas throughout the continental United States. Mr. Boyce Crow, President of SMS, has extensive experience in the surveying field with over 30 years to his credit. As President, he serves as the general manager for all business operations and development. He closely monitors and coordinates all surveying efforts and directly supervises all personnel. SMS offers its clients a quality and experienced staff of two (2) Registered Land Surveyors, CAD operators, technicians and survey crews. SMS also uses state-of-the-art, up-to-date equipment, both in-house and in the field. Such equipment includes Leica Robotic Total Station, Wild Total Stations with Data Collectors, Zeiss and Wild Automatic Levels, Trimble Survey Grade GPS, Trimble Pathfinder GIS/Mapping Grade GPS and complete Cad Workstations (IBM compatible PCs, AutoCAD v2006, Autodesk Land Desktop, digitizers, plotter & RoadRunner Internet access). This equipment, coupled with a competent staff (four who have worked together over 15 years), provides our clients with complete drafting and surveying services.

Selected Professional Experience

1. Burroughs & Chapin - Columbia Venture, LLC
Columbia, SC

Project involves various types of surveying for a proposed 4500+ Acre development along the Congaree River, including; GPS photo control, 100+ miles of wetlands surveys, levee cross-sections, RTK GPS preliminary golf course staking.

2. Lee County Regional Recycling and Disposal Facility - Allied Waste
Bishopville, SC

Project involves all types of surveying on a 1,050 Acre landfill site, including: ground control, boundary surveys, wetlands location, construction surveys, monitoring well locations. This is an on going project.

3. Columbia Metropolitan Airport
West Columbia, SC

Various projects that have included construction staking for tarmac & runway renovations/resurfacing, topographic surveys for engineering projects and boundary surveys throughout the airport facility and surrounding airport properties.

4. SCE&G Cope Plant
Cope, SC

Same type of work as in "2" including extensive wetlands surveying and construction staking for grading contractors and hydrographic surveys on the Edisto River.

3. Photo Ground Control

Since 1985, Survey and Mapping Services has supplied ground control for several countywide mapping projects. These include Spartanburg, Lexington, Orangeburg, Sumter, Aiken and Charleston Counties.

In Spartanburg County, SMS had a vital part in supplying GPS data in a "Blue Book" format. Extensive vertical control was also supplied by SMS crews. Other photo control projects include the E.I. Dupont site in Wilmington, Delaware, U.S. Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and various other sites for developers and governmental agencies.

4. SCE&G Telecommunications Project
Various Locations Throughout SC

This project utilized GPS horizontal data and vertical control surveys to provide geodetic coordinates, elevations and tower heights at existing sites to meet FAA "2-C" requirements.

5. University Club Golf Course
Blythewood, SC

This project involves working with the developer to construct a 36 hole golf course in Richland County. SMS has provided boundary survey, construction staking, wetlands locations and used GPS to develop an "as-built" survey of the 500 acre site.
